Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam founded 1949, Tamil Nadu. It also has presence in nearby union territory of Puducherry. It is a Dravidian party founded by C. N. Annadurai as a breakaway faction from the Dravidar Kazhagam (known as Justice Party till 1944) headed by Periyar. Since 1969, DMK is headed by M Karunanidhi, the current Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu.

In the 14th Lok Sabha it hed 16 and currently in the 15th Lok Sabha has 18 members.
